At Olivieri's, every order is carefully handled from the moment it comes in to the moment it arrives at your doorstep.
Whether it's a birthday, a hard day, or a just-because delivery, here's a look at how your order becomes something beautiful and the small steps we take to get it just right.

Whether it's placed online, over the phone, or in person, every flower order starts with someone thinking of someone else. It might be a planned gift for a birthday, a last-minute pick-me-up, or a quiet message that words alone can't say.
If you're ordering online, the process is simple: you choose a product from the website (maybe Queen, Just Peachy, or Blushing Blooms in Vase), write a short message for the card, select your delivery date, and click confirm. Your order drops into our dashboard as a new notification. We open it up, check we've got all the necessary details, and then print it out. If the order is for a future date, it's filed away. If it's for today, it heads straight to the workbench to be made up.
If you call us instead, it's often a little more personal. People will describe the tone they want to strike, or ask for advice on what to send. We jot down the message, clarify the delivery details, and help guide the decision. Those card messages are often handwritten in the shop, one of those small human touches we love.

Once the order's confirmed, we head to the coolroom.
For set products like Honey Pot or Our Farms Best, we work from a recipe; for example, three stems of this, four stems of that, paired with a certain colour wrap and finish. It keeps the look and feel consistent so the recipient gets exactly what was pictured.
Of course, flowers are seasonal and nature doesn't always deliver to spec. If a certain bloom isn't available that day, we make thoughtful substitutions that maintain the bouquet's colour palette, texture, and overall value.
If it's a Florist's Choice order, the process is more intuitive. We read the card message, consider the occasion, and craft something just right. It might be soft and gentle for sympathy, bright and playful for celebration, or subtle and neutral for something professional. The stems we choose often come fresh from local growers, and sometimes what's available that morning becomes the perfect fit.

This is where the magic happens: at the workbench, with clippers, wrap, and hands that know how to build beauty.
Every bouquet is made freshly to order. We spiral the stems, layer focal blooms with greenery and filler flowers, and adjust the shape as we go. We're not just placing flowers into a bunch, we're balancing height, texture, weight, and movement so the finished product feels full and harmonious.
Even our recipe-based bouquets still get this attention. We check how each stem is sitting, how the colours interact, and whether anything needs shifting before we wrap it up. The wrap is chosen to suit the flowers and the feeling: soft neutrals, crisp white, earthy tones, or even something a little more playful.

Some messages are long and heartfelt. Others are just a name and a “thinking of you.”
Either way, we make sure they're attached carefully and clearly. Online orders are printed, while phone orders are usually handwritten. It's a quiet moment in the process, but one that matters because the card is often the only clue to who the flowers are from, and why.
Once the flowers are arranged, it's time to get them safely on the road.
All of our bouquets are sent out in water, secured in a water bag to keep the stems hydrated during transit. Arrangements are built into floral foam, so they're already drinking, and vases (like those used in Blushing Blooms in Vase) are filled and checked before they leave the shop.
Each order is carefully packed into a delivery box or crate, ensuring it remains upright and stable. We use a peg system in our van, a clever setup of PVC tubes that lets us safely secure vases, foam containers, and boxes without them toppling over on the road.
If someone has added a gift to their order (like a candle, hand cream, or something from our gift range) it's packed in a kraft-paper bag and labelled with a small pink “gift” sticker on the envelope. This helps alert the courier that there's an additional item to be delivered alongside the flowers.
We don't promise specific delivery times (except for funeral work), but we plan our routes carefully to avoid wasting time, especially across the Central Coast's wide spread of suburbs. Every delivery is grouped by location and urgency to ensure each bouquet arrives fresh and quickly.
We don't always see the moment someone receives their flowers, but we think about it a lot.
We think about the person pausing their day to open the door. The smile, the surprise, the emotion behind it. Whether it's received in a hospital room, at a workplace, or left safely by the front door, we know it lands somewhere important.
It starts with a person placing an order, writing a note, choosing to send something beautiful, and ends with another person on the receiving end of that thoughtfulness.
From recipe bouquets to florist's choice, handwritten cards to water bags, wrapping to routing, everything in between is handled with care.
So the next time you send flowers, know that it's more than just a transaction. It's a moment in someone's day. And we're honoured to help make it a good one.
